For instance, the comments about the 996's brakes being "better" are going on the data from those laps only. If you look at the other lap data, you'll see the 350Z pulls nearly identical numbers in some cases. I analyzed the 996's lateral and acceleration g's and my conclusion was that the 996 driver gained the two seconds by being more consitant in the braking zones (braking harder and more linear) and carrying more speed through the turns. My conclusion regarding the two cars is that they are roughly identical in ability and the difference between these two laps is the driver. |
