Turn 1

Turn one is a deceptive right hander that can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. Just after passing the start finish line you want to brake and down shift into the proper gear. Some people double apex. I stay out wide on the left side of the track and single late apex on turn 2.

Turn 2

Turn two is really an extension of turn one together they are like a carousel. I late apex turn two to get back on the throttle as quickly as possible for the short straight. At the end of this straight there is a quick right hander that you'll need to brake hard for before turn 3.

Turn 3

Once through the right hander there's a short squirt to turn three. Three is the slowest turn on the track, stay out wide right, get you’re braking done and turn in hard. Exit out is uphill so there's good grip to get the car back out to the left hand side of the track. This will set you up nicely for a fast right hander going uphill before turn four. I can usually take this turn with a small lift (when dry) and let the car track out left to set up for turn four.

Turn 4

Turn four is an off camber right hander that drops away downhill. I tend to tiptoe through here as there is not a lot of run off space before you get to tire barriers and trees. Once your car is planted and pointed downhill, get on the throttle for the run to turn five.

Turn 5

Turn five is a long sweeper. You have to brake before entering since you'll tend to use most of the available traction for turning. This is why you want the braking done before entering. You may have a big wiggle if braking while in the turn. Once in the turn you'll need to squeeze on power until you exit wide left onto the back straight. Blast on down to turn six.

Turn 6

Turn six is a medium radius right hander. Brake hard from the straight and transition to a hard throttle exit, squirting down to a carousel. I stay near the middle and late apex the carousel for the short straight to turn seven.

Turn 7

Turn seven the esses, this turn has been patched in concrete so is slippery especially when wet. The goal here is to make your path as close to a straight line as you can through the quick left - right. Get on the throttle for the straight leading to eight, the swamp turn.

Turn 8

Turn 8 is a true carousel. It is a big double apex left hander. You enter it quite fast and have to brake and turn since the first part tightens. You then accelerate a small amount to the first apex. Then lift slightly and apply throttle while heading for the second apex where you immediately go to wide open for track out. This is a complicated turn so don’t be afraid to experiment. You will likely find yourself modulating the throttle a lot – just be smooth and you'll soon get the hang of it.
