Motorcycle turn by turn guide to the Oschersleben trackFrom TrackpediaRide a lap on a 2001 Honda Fireblade with 46 tooth (OEM42) rear sprocket. (best laptime 1:39.9), Marc, Netherlands Hotel curve, left kink + right hairpin: After passing the red line on the tarmac (between SF and the bridge) start braking hard and shift down to second gear. Flick the bike in at high revs, turn tight to the left curb and flick the bike over to the right. Let it roll a bit wide mid corner, to lead it tight to the inside curb for a late apex. Open throttle wide and let the bike run to the left of the track. Hasseröder, left hairpin: On the short straight approaching this corner be on the right side of the track and brake hard. Flick the bike in, let it roll and make for a late apex. Crack on the throttle and open wide after the apex. Use the complete track on your way to the triple. Triple, Three consecutive left-hand kinks: Taken the right way, the line makes for one long left-hand corner. The Triple separates the boys from the men. Depending on your approach speed, do or don’t brake shortly, flick the bike in early. After the apex, let the bike run wide for a correct approach of the second. Enter-ing this apex you can hardly see the next section, so it is scary to keep the bike leaned over. After the second apex let it run to the middle of the track and start braking. Use the bikes ten-dency to upright on the brakes to flick the bike over to the right. Brake hard when you’re up-right and shift down to second. Right corner: Flick the bike in on the right side, slowly release the brake and let the bike roll through the endless right-hander. Pick a late apex and accelerate early and hard towards the chicane. Keep your body weight on the right side of the bike. Chicane + Mc Donalds curve: Again, dependant on your approach speed and your guts, do or don’t brake. Flick in early and point to the right curb (I take that curb full) leaned over to the right. Upright the bike (but keep your butt on the right side) and take the left curb “crack-on” (only the flat green part, don’t go over the inclined blue curb). Flick the bike back on the right side as soon as the bike is settled from taking the curb. Open the throttle slowly until you can see the back straight. From there on it is full throttle acceleration while letting the bike run to the left side of the track. Shell curve, right-hand kink: On top of the hill (just after the 200m sign) brake hard shortly while shifting to 3rd gear. Flick in early and keep the bike after the apex (keep on the right side of the track). Ammam Curve, left-hand kink: Flick the bike from right to left “on the throttle”. Lean the bike over and KEEP the bike leaned over after the apex. The exit is virtually blind so this is scary. If you trust the track to keep going left you’re all right. Accelerate hard tot the next right-hander. Bauer curve, right-hand kink: This corner can always be exited faster than you thought. Brake shortly, flick it in early and pick the apex “on the throttle”. Use the complete track to discover you can accelerate hard coming out of this one. Zeppelin curve, right-hand last corner: Brake hard, shift down to second, gently flick it in and keep the bike settled. Accelerate through the corner and open up coming up the straight. This exit is also virtually blind (crest) and the track is wide at the exit. Usually you’ll find yourself coming out slower than you know is possible. From now on it is full throttle to the finish or the first corner. |
